A Great Experience from the First Day
Samburu gave us a completely different perspective on Kenya's wildlife compared with the destinations we had visited before. We travelled from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve, enjoying the changing scenery as we entered the drier northern region. During our game drives, we searched for the special wildlife associated with this area, including Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffes, gerenuks, and Somali ostriches. Spending several days in Samburu allowed us to explore the reserve without feeling rushed. We also enjoyed the beautiful landscapes around the Ewaso Ng'iro River, which created a striking contrast with the surrounding dry country.
For this trip, we chose a private mid-range safari because we wanted comfortable accommodation and flexibility during our game drives. Our lodge was welcoming, and our guide explained the animals, their habitats, and the local environment in an interesting way. We particularly enjoyed seeing wildlife that we had not encountered on previous trip
