An Experience I’ll Never Forget

Climbing Kilimanjaro with the local experienced operator, Tanzania Natural Tours was one of the hardest and most incredible things we have ever done, and there is absolutely no way we would have reached the summit without this amazing crew. We arrived with guides and porters, but genuinely left feeling like we had gained family.

Joel, our head guide, was exceptional. We joked that he must have been a doctor in another life! With 23 years of experience, around 500 summits and extensive first-aid knowledge, you immediately feel you are in safe hands. I became very sick during the climb, and Joel guided me through it physically and mentally. He knew when to push, when to slow down and exactly what I needed. I never felt embarrassed or uncomfortable; only safe, cared for and supported. His positivity, knowledge of the mountain and nature, and his motto “Love is my religion” perfectly describe him.
