What is the hardest part of climbing Kilimanjaro?
For most climbers, summit night is the hardest part. You normally begin walking during the night when temperatures are very low, then continue uphill for several hours toward Uhuru Peak. By that stage, you have already spent several days trekking, so tiredness, cold, darkness, and altitude are combined. Mental determination and controlled pacing become extremely important.
