First and foremost, book this tour! I had less than 10 hours in Stone Town, so I booked the tour with Tanzania Natural Tours for the morning I arrived. I’m so thankful I did, because I wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much out of my limited time there otherwise.

It was just me and Rashid for a few hours, and he was an excellent guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Stone Town's history and chose the perfect walking route, covering all the major highlights. He also arranged for me to end the tour at the Slave Market Museum, a deeply moving and sobering experience.

It was a pleasure spending time with Rashid and learning about such a fascinating and historic place. I look forward to returning one day to see his planned museum dedicated to one of Zanzibar's Sultans.
