The trail crosses the alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo, where vegetation becomes increasingly sparse and the terrain more rocky. Continue at a slow and steady pace with your private guide as you gain altitude. Upon reaching Kibo Hut, have your evening meal and prepare your clothing, water and personal equipment for the summit attempt.
